About

willkWill Kostakis is an award-winning, bestselling author for young adults. He was first published at nineteen, and since then, he’s lived out of a suitcase, speaking at schools, festivals and conferences around Australia and abroad. He is best known for writing whip-smart comedies that break (then mend) hearts, and occasionally making national news for resisting local book and author bans.

We Could Be Something is his latest novel. It’s a humorous yet heart-rending look at family, fame and falling in love. It was shortlisted for the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award, Writing For Young Adults.

As a high school student, Will won Sydney Morning Herald Young Writer of the Year for a collection of short stories. People confuse it for the masthead’s far more prestigious Best Young Australian Novelists prize, and Will has stopped correcting them.

An advocate for young readers and writers, Will was awarded the 2020 Maurice Saxby Award by the School Library Association of New South Wales for service to children’s and young adult literature.

For information on the types of presentations and workshops he runs in schools, or if you simply want to say hey, please don’t hesitate to email Will.
